The Osso Special
Friends of Police Officer Luigi Osso will be working together to assist the Osso Family as our friend Luigi recovers from his injuries.  Luigi has been a member of the Irvington Police Department for over 3 years.  Luigi’s recovery will be a long and difficult one not only for him but also for his entire family. His family has virtually lived at the hospital since the accident. To help we have created “The Osso Special”.
We are asking that individuals, families and organizations sign up to provide a delivered dinner that will go to the hospital for the Osso Family. We hope to provide this service for at least 30 days. To sign up please contact The Irvington Recreation & Parks Department and they will assist with registering and setting the date you will be asked to deliver your dinner. For more information ask for Joe Archino or Laura Coapman at 591-7736.

Mentoring Opportunities
The Children’s Village— http://www.childrensvillage.org —is looking for adult role models committed to establishing a one-on-one relationship with a young person. Our Mentors meet with their Mentees on our Dobbs Ferry campus, in the local community and in New York City where they plan and participate in a variety of fun and educational activities. The Children’s Village helps children and families who are struggling become productive, independent citizens who will enrich their communities and their future families. Working with some of New York’s most at-risk kids means changing two lives—theirs and yours! Research proves that Mentoring works to improve the lives of young people while also providing endless benefits to the adult. For more information contact Topher Nichols, Coordinator of Volunteer Services at 914.693.0600 ext 1819 or cnichols@childrensvillage.org
