FEINER TO LAUNCH CAMPAIGN TO SAVE BUS SERVICE
Release Date: December 12, 2003

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feinerannounced his intention to wage a county-wide campaign to save the Manhattanexpress bus service, - a service the county is considering eliminating or reducing. Feiner, who got his start in politics in the early l980s by starting Westchester’s first express bus into Manhattanfrom Westchester, said that it’s important to keep the bus service because Metro North needs competition. “Competition resulted in improved rail service. The lack of competition will result in eventual service declines.” In addition--------if the express bus service goes out of business commuters who currently take the bus into Manhattanwill have to find parking at existing train stations. Some stations, like Hartsdale, have a waiting list for parking permits. Dobbs Ferry restricts non resident parking. This will create a big crisis.

Those wishing to join the lobbying effort should contact Feiner at pfeiner@greenburgh.com or should call him at 993 1540.
