Dannon US Headquarters Might Move to Grbrg
Release Date: February 06, 2004

I sent the following e mail earlier today suggesting that I will push to create another access off of 287. I would like to create another access point but it won’t be heading east bound because that would require condemnation of private property------which I would not support. However, the town owns property alongside of the “Dannon Building” and could work with Dannon, the property owner and the neighborhood to determine the feasibility of a west bound entrance. Currently there is a west bound exit. Not a west bound entrance. A west bound entrance would possibly reduce traffic on Hillside Avenue.

PAUL FEINER

BUILDING ACROSS FROM TOWN HALL MIGHT BECOME DANNON HEADQUARTERS

NEW ACCESS OFF OF 287 PROPOSED….

The Westchester County Industrial Development Agency has approved a $250,000 sales tax exemption on the construction and purchasing of new equipment offer to Dannon  if they move their offices to 100-150 Hillside Ave, across from GreenburghTown Hall. Dannon still has not made a  firmcommitment to lease space at the building

100-150 Hillside Avehas never been occupied. The building was approved by the Greenburgh Town Board prior to Supervisor Paul Feiner’sadministration—more than 13 years ago!  The former developer never completed the building –for many years the complex was a big eyesore and was called “THE BEAST” by residents. Members of the Greenburgh Town Board had considered purchasing the building for a Town Hall/Library prior to the Board’s decision to move the Town Hall to 177 Hillside Ave.

Supervisor Feiner said he would be delighted to welcome Dannon as a neighbor. They’re a great corporation, produce yogurt, cheese, desserts, bottled water and other snacks. Feiner said that if they do move he will push the state to create another access off of 287. It would be great if people could access Hillside from 287 if they are going east and west bound instead of only westbound.
