Town Bd takes major land use action steps for Landmark @ Eastview properties...update: Paving
Release Date: August 27, 2014

Earlier this week, when Moody's awarded the town a triple A bond rating (the highest possible) they issued a challenge:  we need to address the  Modest tax base decline. Tonight the Town Board took an important land use action step that addressed the tax base decline.
There is a property within unincorporated Greenburgh known as the Landmark at Eastview Campus. The property is about 100 acres. Among current uses: Madison Square Garden Training Facility (used by the NY Knicks, Rangers and Liberty teams) and some research and development companies --including Regeneron (which has been rated the world's number one bio tech company).
The Town Board tonight approved a Findings Statement associated with Eastview Holdings forthcoming zoning text amendment petition for a new zoning district called Planned Economic Development district (PED).

The types of uses that could eventually be proposed on the Old Saw Mill River Road/Rt. 9A portion of the site include research and development Technology/Medical-Office related uses, or a hotel and other commercial uses. The types of uses that could eventually be proposed on the interior of the site include research and development Technology/Medical-Office related uses and non-retail commercial development. The site is currently zoned in the Office Business (OB) District, the Multi-Family Residence (M-6) District, and Multi-Family Residence (M-10) District.  The town could generate millions of dollars in taxes and in building permit fees when construction starts.  Now that the important Findings Statement has been approved the next step is for the zoning text amendment to be approved and for site plan reviews...
