UNITED STATES SENATOR KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND & CONGRESSWOMAN NITA LOWEY WILL SPEAK AT VETERANS DAY CEREMONY IN HARTSDALE AT 2 PM ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 11 (Veterans Day)
LOCATION: SITE OF SOON TO BE CONSTRUCTED VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK  ACROSS FROM HARTSDALE TRAIN STATION
LIVING HISTORY INTERVIEWS OF 150 VETERANS TO BE AIRED ON LOCAL PUBLIC ACCESS TV STATION VETERANS DAY  & FRIDAY NOVEMBER 13 TO MONDAY NOVEMBER 16

United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand  and United States Congresswoman Nita Lowey will attend our annual Veterans Day ceremony at DeSanti Park, across from the Hartsdale train station this Wednesday, November 11th at 2 PM. The ceremony time has changed to 2 PM (originally it was scheduled for 1 PM).

The Senator will speak at the park that will be enhanced next year and turned into a Veterans Memorial park honoring the contributions of our local heroes. The Town Board authorized the release of non- taxpayer dollars to create a Veterans Memorial park at this location earlier this year. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2016.

The town will also continue our tradition of airing the living history interviews of approximately 150 veterans. These interviews of the veterans, each about thirty minutes long, will air on public access TV from on Wednesday and Friday night, November 13th to Monday morning November 16th on channels 76 cablevision and 35 Verizon Fios.  The living history interviews are aired non- stop on public access TV every Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day and on weekends close to these days.

I will be introducing a resolution before the Town Board creating a permanent Veterans Advisory Board to help veterans with veteran related problems.
Paul Feiner
