It's been one year since William Carter, former Commissioner of the Department of Community Resources (Theodore Young Community Center) passed away. Members of the Town Board will be forwarding a recommendation to the TDYCC Advisory Board & the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board to rename the Pavilion at Yosemite Park (in back of the Theodore Young Community Center) the William L. Carter pavilion. During Commissioner Carter's tenure he greatly enhanced the Jazz concert series held during the summer months at the pavilion. Some of the best and most talented Jazz musicians in the region provide the community with outstanding entertainment each July and August. Commissioner Carter motivated & inspired hundreds of young people during his life.
