The 3 paid fire districts held their election yesterday for Fire Commissioners. There was one contested election in Hartsdale. Robert Iamonico received 407 votes to Mona Fraitag’s 368 votes. Peter Woods was elected Hartsdale Fire Commissioner in an uncontested election. Warren Hershkowitz was elected Greenville Fire Commissioner and Vikki Simmons won re-election as Fairview Fire Commissioner.
Every December the Fairview Fire Department escorts Santa Claus in his sleigh through the Fairview Fire District wishing everyone a happy holiday season. Adults and children alike are always excited to receive a candy cane from Jolly St Nick. Please help us spread the word to the community that we will be assisting Santa on December 16th and 17th and we have included the schedule below. The Hartsdale Fire Department is proud to announce their annual Operation Candy Cane, which will take place on Saturday December 16th, 2017, from 9:00am – 1:00pm.
The Hartsdale Professional Firefighters will spread Holiday Cheer by escorting Santa Claus and his helpful and friendly elves around the Hartsdale Fire District in a Fire Engine Sleigh handing out Candy Canes to all attending children & adults. Printed below is a full list of all Stops & Times and to make sure everyone is at the right location awaiting Santa’s arrival, the location marker signs shown below will be posted at every stop. Due to the busyness of Santa’s schedule, please allow for some flexibility with our estimated arrival times. Also, due to safety concerns, we ask that all children are accompanied by an adult and arrive at the designated locations approximately 10 minutes prior to posted times to avoid children running around and near the fire trucks. In the event of inclement weather, this event will take place on Sunday December 17th, 2017.
