More new trees coming down. Received some calls/e mails from residents about new power outages--at the Atria Woodlands Senior center, Ferndale road, Meadowbrook, and Townsend in Hartsdale and Edgemont. The Commissioner of Public Works, Victor Carosi, just called me to advise that PIPELINE WILL BE CLOSED. A tree fell on Ardsley Road.
Because of the heavy snow we are being careful. If we feel a tree causes a wire to come down at this hour in the evening we are going to close off the road until Con Ed can advise us that the wire is not live.
It's dangerous--I wouldn't be surprised if there are additional power outages, trees that come down. BE CAREFUL. Will provide you with additional information as I get it.
I believe that Con Ed has more out of state crews in the area so if power is out as a result of this storm, the restoration should hopefully be quicker than the last nor'easter. Sorry for this horrible experience that many residents are going through.
