DO YOU WANT TO HELP LOW INCOME CHILDREN OBTAIN NEEDED BACKPACKS?  THE LOIS BRONZ CHILDREN’S CENTER NEEDS YOUR HELP

Dear Mr. Feiner:

We are gearing up for our 9th Road to Success backpack campaign at the Lois Bronz Children’s Center.

Starting a new school year is always a scary, yet exhilarating experience. Imagine doing it without the proper tools, unprepared and unable to participate in that first day excitement. We are trying to eliminate this situation and help our students on the Road to Success.

The Lois Bronz Children’s Center provides services for infants, to sixth graders.  Several programs reside in our building; Special Needs classes, Head Start preschool, Universal Pre-Kindergarten and a School Age Enrichment program. We strive to serve the diverse needs of the various populations found in our community.

Our reason for writing is we are attempting to send our students to Kindergarten with new backpacks and school supplies. We have a large population of students that receive assistance and in this economic climate they have limited resources. New school supplies would help them ride the road to educational success by providing them with the necessary tools, build their self-esteem and teach them to have respect for their belongings.

We are attempting to fill at least 100 backpacks, by August 9th, for our outgoing Kindergarteners.   Donations would be greatly appreciated and put to good use by our amazing, gifted, and talented students.

The children and parents were extremely grateful for the supplies that they themselves are struggling to obtain. With the community’s support we have been able to supply over a thousand students with backpacks and supplies, since we started our campaign.  If you are a first time donor thank you ahead of time for your consideration and/or assistance with our campaign.  If you are a returning patron, thank you again for all of your generosity.

If you would prefer to send a monetary donation for us to purchase the items for the backpacks collection, please send a check made out to LBCC and in the memo section identify backpack drive. If you are dropping off, please ask for Julie. Thank you again for all of your support

Please feel free to contact us at BBJABAStreet@aol.com or 914-761-6134, if you have any questions. The children and parents truly appreciate any endeavor you make. Please find a list of needed items on the attached page.

                                                                                                                                Sincerely,

Jillian Street & Julie Kolawole
