ENERGY CONSERVATION = PATRIOTISM!

ENERGY CONSERVATION CAN HELP US SUCCEED IN CLOSING DOWN INDIAN POINT

Nikki Coddington has started work as Greenburgh's new Energy Conservation Coordinator. She will be supervised by Dan Rosenblum of the Pace Energy Project. Among Nikki's mission goals will be to significantly increase awareness and utilization of energy conservation and energy efficiency measures and renewable energy resources in the Town of Greenburgh. According to Paul Feiner, Supervisor of Greenburgh, "Nikki will monitor and facilitate progress on energy audits and implementation of audit recommendations of our new Town Hall and other town facilities to help ensure maximum cost effective energy savings. She will plan and execute outreach to the residential and business communities.. We want to make Greenburgh a NYSERDA Energy Smart Community. Want to plan for the creation of an Energy Target Zone. And, will plan Energy Efficiency Events." Last year Greenburgh became the first community in NY State to mandate energy conservation in new residential construction. We hope to develop additional legislative initiatives.A good way to win the war against terrorism is to end our reliance on foreign oil. Energy Conservation=patriotism!

Feiner said that successful energy conservation programs can help us prove that Indian Point is not necessary. "If we conserve energy we will convince more people to join our efforts to close down this very dangerous power plant."
