Help hartsdale fire victims
Release Date: June 04, 2003

A fire at 300 S Central Ave on Tuesday (Scarsdale Fairway Apartments) in Blding A caused serious damage to about l0 apartments and caused the evacuation of the entire building. When I went to visit with the displaced families (some senior citizens) I learned that at least 2 have inadequate insurance. Over a dozen years ago, when I was a County Legislator, I formed the Have a Heart for the Homeless Committee--which assists families who have been burnt out of their homes. If you'd like to make a tax deductible contribution to families who were burnt out of their apartments--please send a check to Have a Heart for the Homeless Committee, c/o Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, PO Box 205, Elmsford, NY l0523. If you'd like more info on the families who will be the recipients of the donations - please call me at 993 l540 or e mail me at pfeiner@greenburgh.com.  l00% of all donations will go directly to the families. This email alert is being written on Tuesday evening (near midnight) before written statements of need have been sent to me. Before I write out a check to the family I require another non profit organization to screen the family to determine need.
