NEW RESIDENTS RECEPTION NEXT WEDNESDAY..GRANT FROM NYS FOR HARTSBROOK, IMPROVEMENTS AT BRONX RIVER

If you are a new resident of Greenburgh or are considering moving to the town - you are invited to our annual new residents reception on Wednesday, May 27th from 6 to 7:30 PM at the new Greenburgh public library. FREE FOOD, NEW FRIENDS. Meet elected officials and department heads. Much of the food will be donated by area businesses. And--best of all, NO SPEECHES.

Governor Paterson certified an additional $8.7 million in Stimulus funding for Hudson Valley transportation infrastructure.
 
Specific projects include:
•       $300,000 of ARRA funding for a project to improve intersection lighting along the Bronx River Parkway in Westchester County. The intersections include Virginia Road, Parkway Homes Road, Fisher Lane, Old Tarrytown Road, and Strathmore Road. Work is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
 
     $500,000 of ARRA funding for a project to install an automated traffic management system on the Bronx River Parkway in Westchester County. The new system will include in-pavement vehicle detectors capable of monitoring traffic volume and speed. Work is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
 
The town received $250,000 from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York for the reconstruction of the Harts Brook barn and greenhouse--located off of Ridge Road. The Town Board will accept the Hartsbrook grant at the May 27th Town Board meeting.
