STUDENT HERO TO BE HONORED AT TONIGHTS BD MEETING..new playground to be approved
Release Date: September 09, 2009

Earlier this summer I received a call from an elderly woman in her 90s who has ALS. Her property was beginning to look like an eyesore –with overgrown grass. Neighbors were upset. I sent out an e mail seeking volunteers.  Jake Schiappacasse, a 16 year old sophomore at Ardsley High School, answered the call to help. He volunteered his time mowing her lawn –and reducing the stress level of the elderly woman.
Jake is being honored by the Greenburgh Town Board as our “Student Hero of the Month”. He is a real inspiration. He is modest, and has a desire to help others. The Town Board is meeting at 7:30 PM.

TOWN BOARD TO VOTE TONIGHT TO RELEASE NON TAX DOLLARS FOR NEW PLAYGROUND ON CENTRAL AVE
The Greenburgh Town Board will vote tonight to release $120,000 for a new playground at Richard Presser Park (webb field, off of Central Ave). This is non taxpayer dollars. The funds come from a special escrow account that is generated from new subdivisions. We hope to involve students in the selection process of a new playground.
