CBS WORLD NEWS ROUNDUP ANCHOR TO EXHIBIT ART WORK -RECEPTION SUNDAY
Release Date: October 26, 2009

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1 RECEPTION TO SHOWCASE CBS WORLD NEWS ANCHOR NICK YOUNG'S ART WORK
AT GREENBURGH TOWN HALL FROM 1-3

CBS Radio Network Anchor Exhibits Artistic Side at Greenburgh Town Hall

Nick Young began his career in radio in 1968.  Now, each weekday morning, he anchors "The World News Roundup" on the CBS Radio Network. Young first pursued his artistic side in 1995 while on assignment for CBS Radio News.  During the sensational O. J. Simpson trial, he spent a portion of his time sitting in a New York studio anchoring the network's gavel-to-gavel coverage of the trial. “With the lion's share of time taken up by testimony,” says Mr. Young, “I had long stretches with little to say. I began sketching the faces of the witnesses on paper napkins that had been left in the studio. When I finished one, I'd thumbtack it to the wall. After a while, I'd accumulated a small collection, and co-workers took note. Armed with their encouragement, I decided to give drawing a try in my off hours; but, after completing a few more drawings, I stopped – for no apparent reason. Thirteen years later, in the spring of 2008,  John Daido Loori's "The Zen of Creativity," showed me the way back to drawing.”
A selection from Mr. Young’s drawings will have their debut exhibit in the Madeleine Gutman Gallery at Greenburgh Town Hall from November 1st thru December 31st.  The public is invited to meet-the-artist at a gallery reception Sunday, November 1st from 1-3 pm.
Nick Young and his wife Deborah live in Westchester County. Their son Chris, is a broadcaster in Illinois.
Greenburgh Town Hall is accessible.  The building is open to the public from 9am - 5 pm, Mondays - Fridays.
