CON ED POWER OUTAGE UPDATE

Governor Patterson directed the New York State Department of Insurance to activate their disaster hotline to assist property owners that have questions related to their insurance coverage. The number is 1-800-339-1759 and is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Am receiving some good news from residents throughout the town who report that their power is now back on. Unfortunately, there are still thousands without power. Con Ed now projects that 95% of all residents will have their power on by sometime Thursday evening.
Dry ice will be distributed Wednesday at Saxon Woods in White Plains. I continue to be disappointed at how slow the restoration is taking. Have called on the Governor to activate the NY National Guard (which doesn't seem likely to happen) to help localities with traffic control, removing trees. Think that the NY National Guard should be part of future emergency planning.
