3400 pepole still out of power in greenburgh as of this morning
Release Date: March 17, 2010

According to Con Ed there are still 3,400 residents of Greenburgh out of power. Shortly after the storm there were over 7000 homes without power. We will continue to put the pressure on. I will ask the PSC to review Con Ed's procedures---why should surrounding counties be given priority over Westchester? The PSC should also analyze Con Ed's policies re: prioritizing neighborhoods that get power restored first.
PAUL FEINER
Good Morning Paul,

As of this morning the Town of Greenburgh has approximately 3400 residents without service.  We expect to get the majority restored by late tonight, however the areas with the most severe damage and the single service jobs could go into late Friday night.

Con Edison will continue to distribute dry ice at four Westchester locations - from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customer care representatives will also be available to answer any concerns or questions.

The dry ice locations are:

·        New Rochelle, 90 Beaufort Place (Also a customer van)
·        Yonkers, Empire City Raceway (Yonkers Raceway) parking lot (Also a customer van)
·        White Plains, Saxon Woods Park, 1800 Mamaroneck Avenue (Also a customer van)
·        Mount Vernon City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square

For residents picking up dry ice, instructions for safe handling and disposal are printed on the bag containing the ice. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide and should be used only in well-ventilated areas. Keep children and pets safely away.
