NEW WARM PAJAMAS AND BOOKS WANTED FOR  NEEDY CHILDREN

BINS LOCATED AT GREENBURGH TOWN HALL

Dear Supervisor Feiner:

On Saturday before shopping at the fantastic garage sale, I set up four collection bins at Town Hall for the Pajama Program's "Stuff a Bus" campaign.  This is the program I mentioned when we met at A&P a few weeks ago.

The Pajama Program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that delivers new, warm pajamas and new books to children in need in order to create a better bedtime for hundreds of thousands of children without stable homes.  Many of these children are waiting and hoping to be adopted.  These children have been traumatized.  Most wear the same soiled, torn clothing for days and nights, and those that are removed from their homes leave with only the clothes on their backs.  The Pajama Program offers a loving environment by providing them with a more soothing bedtime

October 1st through March 31st marks "Danger Season," when the chill at night makes it the most desperate time for children without warm sleepwear.  Pajama Program's 3rd annual "Stuff a Bus" campaign is underway now to help get children in Westchester County new pajamas and new books for "Danger Season," when they feel particularly vulnerable at bedtime.

The County-wide goal is to collect 5,000 new pairs of pajamas and 2,500 new books.  A special Pajama Program bus will pick up donations of 200 or more pajamas during the week of November 8th.  I hope that through the generosity of Greenburgh residents and Town employees, Town Hall will be a pick up site.

I would very much appreciate it if you would let Town residents know about this worthy cause and that the collection bins I set up at Town Hall are waiting to be filled.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your kind cooperation and assistance.

Best regards,

Pamela
