WOULD AN AMERICAN FLAG FLORAL ARRANGEMENT AT DESANTI PARK IN HARTSDALE BE A NICE ADDITION?
Release Date: November 12, 2011

Yorktown Councilman Vishnubhai V. Patel gave me a great idea (he showed me some terrific photos) designing a beautiful floral arrangement of a large american flag for a local park. When I attended today's 3rd annual Veterans Day ceremony at DeSanti Park on E Hartsdale Ave (across from the Hartsdale train station), I thought--wouldn't it be a big boost to the avenue if the side of the park (not the side the musicians perform at during the farmer's market) would have an american flag floral arrangement? We could make the avenue more of a destination point --add more beauty and charm to our hamlet. This would make the memorial day celebration even nicer!

Earlier this year I reached out to a landscaper who expressed interest in donating their services to the town--enhancing DeSanti park with attractive new floral arrangements. The gateway to Greenburgh and Hartsdale should be more beautiful.
I'm hoping that this can be accomplished before the Memorial day celebrations. What do you think? Please e mail me with your thoughts.

Special thanks...to Alan Hochberg, newly re-elected Town Clerk Judith Beville for their efforts organizing the annual Veterans day ceremony. The ceremony was very nice. The turnout is getting better every year. The girl scouts who participated in the ceremony sang beautifully, the General who spoke was inspiring. United States Congresswoman Nita Lowey, State Assemblyman Tom Abinani and Legislator Mary Jane Shimsky honored us with their presence.
PLEASE WATCH the living history interviews with veterans on local public access cable TV --the interviews with local veterans are inspiring and are being broadcast non stop all day today.
