COUNTY SHOULD LIGHT UP SECTIONS OF BRONX RIVER PARKWAY IN THE EVENING...
Release Date: February 16, 2012

At a community meeting on Monday evening at the Virginia Road school on Feb 13th many of the residents who attended called on the county to put some lights on the Bronx River Parkway--especially near the N White Plains train station.

Many commuters who reside in the Parkway gardens and Parkway Homes section of town are fearful. It's very dark. The lack of lighting on the parkway creates significant safety concerns for pedestrians who cross the street when going to or from the N White Plains train station.

Lighting up sections of the Bronx River Parkway could save lives, improve safety, reduce pedestrian/car accidents and enhance quality of life. I followed up after the meeting by writing to the County Executive, members of the Board of Legislators and other county officials. What do you think?
The e mail of the County Executive is ceo@westchestergov.com.  If you agree that lights should be placed at key locations on the parkway please e mail the County Executive and send me a copy. Please highlight specifics.

I also believe that certain sections of the Saw Mill River Parkway are very dangerous in the evening and have called for lights to be placed at key sections of the parkway. Accidents could be avoided if the road is lit.
