Don't worry--Greenburgh water is safe, healthy and good
Release Date: August 07, 2013

Some people have been emailing me about a lawsuit regarding lack of proper water filtration and the resulting exposure to consumers to a parasite. Greenburgh is not impacted by the lawsuit. Our water is safe and good!  In fact, over the years we have won water tasting awards!

According to John Devany, water and Sewer Superintendent for  the town the article specifically identifies County Water District No. 1, which  takes water through their own connection at Kensico Dam and does not currently provide or have UV treatment at that connection, therefore they are not in compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The Town of Greenburgh receives their water through two connections on the Catskill and Delaware aqueducts which are provided with UV treatment and are in compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act.
