difference between tax cap levy and tax rate...MEDIATION SERVICES OFFERED...
Release Date: October 30, 2013

Earlier today I released my proposed 2014 budget. I indicated that the town will be complying with the NYS tax cap for the third consecutive year-an accomplishment many local governments and school districts have not been able to accomplish. A few residents called and sent me e mails wondering why the county, town, school and fire districts could be in compliance with the NYS tax cap law and have tax increases slightly more than 2%. I found an excellent explanation of the law --which is posted below.

Another matter--MEDIATION SERVICES BEING OFFERED...
The Town of Greenburgh is pleased to introduce the Greenburgh Community Mediation Program. Based at the Theodore D. Young Community Center, the program offers conflict resolution services for landlord/tenant, small claims, family, and nuisance problems in lieu of court or intervention by official agencies. Trained mediators are available five days a week and sessions can be arranged by calling the Community Center and asking for the mediation program. Sessions are held at various sites in the Town of Greenburgh. All mediation sessions are confidential. We encourage you to take advantage of this service.
