Building Department has stepped up its code enforcement efforts. John Lucido, Building Inspector, advises that in 2004 there were 947 notices of violations issued compared to 433 in 2003. Most are in residential districts and relate to quality of life issues. The Building Department decided on a policy of proactive town-wide code enforcement rather than acting only on complaints, as was the past practice. The intention of the Building Department is to continue the policy to ensure that residents enjoy their quality of life in the town. PAUL FEINER
