IBM’s Watson
Sunday, May 10, 2:00 p.m.
Presenter: Dr. Pierre Darmon
Mr. Darmon’s will highlight the IBM's Watson, a supercomputer that played Jeopardy! on national TV in 2011, and won against the top two champions of all times. He will cover this history making event, and a few examples of the use of the technology, in medicine, financial services, and other fields. No registration required.
This event will take place in the Library's Multipurpose Room.

An unpleasant note…a police officer was suspended today and relieved of his duties for the posting of a racially insensitive posting and comments on facebook. The internal investigation is continuing. The officer faces discipline up to and including termination of employment. I have asked our newly formed Human Rights Committee to review the town’s policies regarding town employees who make racially offensive comments and to come up with policies that would apply to all employees who work for the town.
