NEW! 10 YEAR OLDS ARE REPORTERS FOR NEW RADIO STATION FORMED BY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM!
Release Date: May 15, 2015

NEW!  10 year old students are reporters for Westchester’s newest radio station WXGB. The student reporters, part of the Xposure after school program, interview public officials, community leaders every Wednesday during the school year at 4:30 PM.  During my interview (which I hope my wife won’t listen to) the reporters disclosed that they have confidential sources all over Town Hall. They uncovered a secret - sometimes I walk around the building looking for and then eating snacks. They refused to tell me who their confidential sources are!  They asked me when I went bald  (human interest question) but also discussed major town issues.  These reporters were prepared, did their homework coming up with great questions, did not read from notes and wouldn’t let me walk out when the questions got difficult.

Our after school program does more than many after school programs around the nation  --they give students important skills that will prepare them for great success. Other initiatives of the Xposure after school program: students invest in the stock market, open up bank accounts. The Xposure after school program meets at the Theodore Young Community Center during the year. The radio station is located at Greenburgh Town Hall on Wednesday’s.  If your child (K-8th grade) is interested in participating next fall, please advise.
