Release Date: September 05, 2015

IF YOU ARE A VETERAN YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR ANNUAL VETERANS BARBEQUE ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 9TH from 5 PM to 7:30 PM AT ANTHONY VETERAN TOWN PARK.  Our annual veterans barbeque will be taking place on Wednesday evening, September 9th from 5 PM to 7:30 PM at Anthony Veteran Town Park, off of Heatherdell Road in Ardsley.  Great food. A few hundred veterans and their families usually attend this event.  We will also be saluting Alan Hochberg who came up with the idea for the Veterans barbeque a number of years ago. Alan also hosts the Veterans Living History initiative. He has interviewed approximately 150 veterans of World War II and Korean conflict as part of our veterans living history initiative. Each of the interviews is about 30 minutes long. The interviews are aired on public access TV nonstop every Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day weekend. Alan is moving to Florida in late September. Steve Wittenberg will also be recognized for his role producing the Living History initiative.

Greenburgh Nature Center and the Sierra Club are pleased to invite the Town of Greenburgh to a special presentation on September 9th at 7PM. Expert presenters will highlight key points of Laudato Si', An Environmental Message from the Pope: A Call to All Humanity. Following the presentation there will be a discussion of the document and how this will impact our community.
