GREENBURGH POLICE FIRST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY IN WESTCHESTER COMMITTED TO HAVING BODY CAMERA'S
Release Date: January 16, 2016

GREENBURGH IS FIRST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY IN WESTCHESTER THAT HAS FORMALLY COMMITTED TO OUTFITTING EACH PATROL OFFICER WITH BODY CAMERA’S
The police department recently completed a Body Camera Pilot Program wherein we tested and evaluated three (3) different Body Cameras. With the support of the Greenburgh Town Board and Police Chief, we have just committed to outfit all patrol officers with Taser Axon Body Cameras in 2016.  I believe that the Greenburgh Police Department will be the first law enforcement agency in Westchester that has formally committed to outfitting each patrol officer with their own individual Body Camera.
We are very excited about this initiative and look forward to this new chapter in policing and community relations.  Over a year ago Police Chief Chris McNerney and I attended a meeting of the Greenburgh-White Plains branch of the NAACP and advised the NAACP of our commitment to body camera’s.
