Community meeting at massaro park
Release Date: June 01, 2005

One of the reasons why I love holding community meetings at different parks in the spring/summer is because officials always are provided with constructive comments from residents. On Tuesday, May 31st we held our 14th annual community meeting at MassaroPark. This meeting was no exception!  The park looked nice – the pool (with the interactive kiddy mushroom) will open on June 12th. Mike Nestler of our parks department took residents on a walking tour of the park and discussed plans to enhance landscaping around the park.

A number of issues were discussed. Among the issues:

*The need for outdoor exercise programs at the park for adults.

*Bingo nights at the park

*Controlling unleashed dogs that are roaming around the the park. Some unleashed pit bills that have been frequenting the park are scaring off parents and children. The town should focus attention on this problem.

*Controlling late night noise from the park.

*Placing computers in the new renovated community room at Massaro Park—maybe even a tutorial program(s).

*Placing benches at key locations in the park – some of the benches should have backs on the benches to improve comfort.
