If you reside in the villages you can only use the Veteran town pool if you attend as a guest of a resident of unincorporated Greenburgh. In the 1970s, after the pool was acquired by the town, the New York State Legislature approved a law that only applies to Greenburgh restricting the pool to residents of unincorporated Greenburgh. The law is known as the Finneran law.  In recent years Hastings and Dobbs Ferry (which have their own pools) have offered village residents a limited number of permits to use their pool.

As for the new shelter in the pool area we are going to rent for $100 a day plus the renter will pay for the cost for any guests in advance. Renting will be available when there are no planned department activities taking place.  There will be a max group of 40 people.  We are not advertising heavily yet since we need to work out supervision, availability and setup arrangements.  We hope to bring recreational activities to the pavilion but have not finalized plans.  I need to work with the park superintendent and pool directors on this.
