construction starting next week on new Veterans Memorial park in Hartsdale
Release Date: August 10, 2016

Last year United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congresswoman Nita Lowey joined other officials at a Veterans Day ceremony announcing plans to build a Veterans Memorial Park at DeSanti Plaza, across from the Hartsdale train station.  Earlier in the year Town Board members Francis Sheehan, Diana Juettner, Kevin Morgan, Ken Jones and I approved plans for the park.

The construction is expected to start next week and will completed in time for our annual Veterans Day ceremony. We believe that the new park will be a beautiful asset to Hartsdale and will provide veterans and their family members with a chance to reflect on the contributions local heroes have made. We also believe that placing the park at the gateway to the Hartsdale train station will provide visitors to Hartsdale with a great first impression of our community. And since the new park will be a destination point for some - it should also indirectly help local merchants.

The park will closed during the construction and all the parking spaces around the park will be closed too.  Traffic patterns will not be closed.

By the way, our annual Veterans barbeque will be held at AF Veteran park on September 29th at 5 PM.
