The Greenburgh Town Board will vote on Wednesday night to award a bid to EMT Solar Works to install a photovoltaic system at GreenburghTown Hallto enable part of Town Hall to be powered by solar power. Monies from this project will come from both a NY State Grant (we were one of 12 localities in the state to receive the grant) and from town funds. The Town Board discussed the bid award at last Tuesday’s work session and unanimously agreed to this initiative.  A special thank you to Nikki Coddington, Greenburgh’s energy conservation coordinator for her hard work. The work should be complete before the end of the year.  It’s our hope that the solar panels at Town Hall will motivate others to conserve energy and to consider taking advantage of solar energy for their homes and businesses. I also hope that students who visit Town Hall will learn the benefits of solar energy.
