Release Date: November 08, 2016

POWER IS OUT AGAIN IN EDGEMONT AND PARTS OF HARTSDALE-- Have contacted Con Ed. Hopefully, power will be back soon.  The Hartsdale Fire department contacted the Town Clerks office and advised that the polling place on Central Ave is out of power.  Haven't received any calls from Edgemont HS (power was out on White Oak Lane, according to residents).   You can call  the Town Clerks office if you live near Central Ave.

Town Hall is closed today (election day) and Friday (Veteran's Day). Can't remember when both government holidays took place the same week. Remember- holiday garbage collection schedule.  Please remember to vote. Polls are open from 6 AM to 9 PM. Any concerns about election matters? Contact Town Clerk Judith Beville's office at 989 1501.

A NEW SIDEWALK ON W HARTSDALE AVE

Yesterday, construction began on a 550 ft. stretch of sidewalk on West Hartsdale Avenue (NYS Rt. 100A). The sidewalk, constructed by Solomon Schechter, will extend from the existing sidewalk at the main school entrance to their second driveway exit/entrance. The work is anticipated to be complete in two weeks with minimal lane disruptions expected. Solomon Schecter is paying for the cost of the sidewalk- a condition to their approvals.

The Town will be seeking Safe Routes to School and other grant opportunities to extend this sidewalk to Pat Capone Road and further south to Secor Road.  The goal: to eventually have a sidewalk from Central Ave to W Hartsdale Ave to Knollwood to Route 119.  Recently the Town applied for over $900,000 of grant funds  from NYS to connect the sidewalk gap between the driveway at the Greenburgh Shopping Center, north to the existing sidewalk near the Greenburgh Health Center.  We also applied for a grant to build a sidewalk on Central Ave from Marion to  West/East Hartsdale Ave.
