HEALTH CENTERS SHOULD REQUIRE SPECIAL PERMIT
Release Date: August 20, 2005

The Greenburgh Town Board unanimously approved an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance creating a new definition entitled: Clinic, Dental or Medical and will require a Special Permit to be approved by the Town Board for health clinics. This vote is an important step that will lead to the rapproval of the  Greenburgh Health Center's appplication to build a new center on Knollwood Road.

No member of the Town Board agreed to second my resolution authorizing live streaming of Town Board meetings on the internet--beginning with the September 14th Town Board meeting. This resolution, if it had been approved, would have enabled residents who are out of Town during Town Board meetings to watch the meetings live on the web. Currently, only those who subscribe to cablevision can watch Town Board meetings live on TV (those who have satellite cable cannot watch our meetings live). The Board agreed to discuss this open government initiative in September.
