Coast Guard listens to citizens and kills plan to park barges along the Hudson River
Release Date: June 29, 2017

Earlier this year the Greenburgh Town Board joined many other elected officials and government entities opposing plans that would have allowed barge anchor berths to be placed along the scenic Hudson River. The views of the Hudson (and the spectacular Palisades) are amazing. Allowing barges to be parked along the Hudson would have destroyed views. Hastings on Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington and Tarrytown are part of the town of Greenburgh and enjoy the river.

The members of the Greenburgh Town Board are thrilled with the news that the Coast Guard has decided to kill plans. Great news! Shows that citizens can influence the decision making processes of government. Thank you, Coast Guard for listening!
