Parking lot at Taxter Ridge to be built...seeking residents to participate in street design plan
Release Date: July 17, 2017

The Town of Greenburgh seeks the participation of two residents to be a part of a Steering Committee, and to assist in the formulation of a Rt. 119 Complete Street Design Plan. The project will produce an actionable design for making Route 119 a complete street in the entire Study Area [Route 119 from the intersection of Route 9 (South Broadway) in Tarrytown through the intersection of Route 22 (South Broadway) in White Plains] that can readily form the basis for a subsequent design-build RFP, or similar. The plan, when implemented in later projects, would provide safe, inviting facilities for people of all ages, abilities and modes to travel along and across Route 119.

Interested residents should contact the Town of Greenburgh Planning Commissioner via email gduquesne@greenburghny.com or phone 914-989-1532.

Please note that consistent with Condition 6.21 of the attached Planning Board subdivision approval, the applicant (the Greystone subdivision developer) will soon be installing a new eight space off-street parking lot within the Taxter Ridge Park Preserve. The design was reviewed by Engineering, Planning, Parks & Recreation and Police (traffic and safety) staff.  This is a beautiful 200+ acre park located in E Irvington, near the Tarrytown border.

A copy of the most recent parking lot design is attached. Once constructed, the applicant, in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department, will work on connecting the parking lot, by trail, to the Taxter Ridge Park Preserve’s existing trail network. Future connections are also envisioned into the Village of Tarrytown trail network.
