I have been sharing job postings with residents who are out of work for many years. If you are out of work and would like to be added to the list, please advise by e mailing me atpfeiner@greenburghny.com. Although I can’t promise a job – in the past six years or so I estimate that I have helped over 400 people find employment. I also share info about programs and seminars that could be helpful and frequently meet with residents one on one to provide them with contact info that could be useful in the job search. If you are looking for employment – one option is government. Most government positions require civil service exams. Some exams are held only on a periodic basis. You could call the examinations division at 995 2117 or view additional information on http//humanresources.westchestergov.com. Usually –governments have to hire from the top test takers on an exam. Because of the 2% tax cap that limits the ability of governments to increase the tax cap by more than the 2% tax levy - many governments are not hiring as much as they did in the past. However- some positions have to be replaced when they are vacant. The following are tests that are being given in the near future. The last day to apply to take each of these tests is October 30th.
