GREENBURGH TOWN JUDGE TO BE APPOINTED BY TOWN BOARD TONIGHT

Christie D'Alessio of Irvington will be appointed as Greenburgh Town Judge tonight at our Town Board meeting which begins at 7:30 PM at Greenburgh Town Hall  Ms. D'Alessio is a highly qualified candidate who has dedicated her legal career as a public servant. Ms. D'Alessio earned her undergraduate degree from Mercy College and juris doctorate from Pace Law School with honors (magna cum laude from both schools). After she was inspired by Chief Judge Janet Difiore during a Judicial Externship in Westchester County Court, Ms. D'Alessio worked with the Westchester County Attorney's office for 13 years as a litigator handling cases in local, state and federal court. Ms. D'Alessio was personally appointed in 2014 as the Principal Law Clerk to the Hon. Anne E. Minihan in Westchester County and Supreme Court. Ms. D'Alessio has been working in the judicial branch of our government writing decisions for the Westchester County and Supreme Court where she continuously demonstrates compassion, professionalism and respect for those who appear before the court. Ms. D'Alessio is a member of the Women's Bar Association and is eager to join the Town Court to develop internship programs, alternatives to incarceration and programs available to improve the reduction of recidivism.

 A screening committee recommended three highly qualified candidates to the Town Board. The members of the Town Board feel that Christie is highly qualified and will be an exceptional addition to the Court.  Judge D'Alessio's appointment runs till the end of the year. An election for Town Judge will be held in November, 2018.  Judge D'Alessio will join Delores Brathwaite and Bonnie Orden on the court.
