Citizens Advisory Committee formed to review Town insurance procurements

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner has convened a Citizens Advisory Committee on Insurance Procurement to review the Town's current insurance purchasing procedures and to make recommendations to the Supervisor and Town Board. The committee will be exploring the feasibility of cost savings alternatives to the Town's current commercial coverage.

The Committee had its first meeting on November 30 at Town Hall. Representatives of the Greenville & Hartsdale Fire districts and Irvingtonschool district, as well as Town government participated in the meeting. The  Committee discussed a proposed agenda for its work, and decided to seek a meeting with the Town's current insurance consultant in January to better understand the Town's current insurance procurement procedures.  Edgemont resident Richard Liskov presided as temporary chair. Mr. Liskov is a former Deputy Superintendent and General Counsel of the New York State Insurance Department and currently practices insurance law at White & Case LLP.

The Committee seeks additional participation from Greenburgh citizens who have particular expertise in underwriting or brokering insurance, or who are  familiar with insurance law. Those interested in participating should e mail pfeiner@greenburghny.com; or rliskov@whitecase.com.
