Patrolling streets of Greenburgh with police chief on Halloween --should we stop by at your house?
Release Date: October 31, 2018

Tonight is Halloween. Years ago there was significant vandalism and mischief on Halloween around town. Former Police Chief John Kapica responded to these incidents by assigning police to every neighborhood in town. The police presence sent a message to teenager's that vandalism and property damage would not be tolerated. Kids who violated the law were brought to police headquarters and taken off the streets. In recent years we haven't had many problems on Halloween --the last few years have been quiet.

I began a practice 27 years ago of driving with the Police Chief around town --visiting residents who had experienced problems in the past to make sure that they are OK. The Chief and I also monitor Halloween activities around town - driving to many neighborhoods and chatting with parents and trick or treater's.

If you would like Chief Chris McNerney and I to stop by your house tonight to check up on your property, please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.

We hope that tonight will be a safe Halloween for all of us ----and a fun and safe evening for your children.
