snow update #1 GARBAGE PICK UP AND RECYCLING STILL ON-- Don't park your cars on the streets tonight
Release Date: March 03, 2019

Our team is at work, prepared for this storm. We want to keep our roads safe and passable. They will be out all night and won't stop working until the roads are in great condition. We will make every effort to pick up garbage and recyclables (in areas that get paper pickup tomorrow). Please don't put the garbage or recyclables out tonight.  The pickup times will probably be later than usual.  But- as of now it's still a go!

You can help our DPW team do a great job by keeping your cars off the roads. When cars are parked on town streets the trucks work much slower and parts of the road don't get plowed.  For residents of E Hartsdale Ave, a snow emergency has been declared for the overnight hours of this evening through Monday, March 4th. Parking prohibited at all metered parking spaces on E Hartsdale Ave and Columbia Ae.

We anticipate that the snow should start sticking within the hour and could come down fast so it's better to stay off the roads tonight, if at all possible.  When the snow comes down quickly road conditions deteriorate quickly --a road that was just plowed will look bad a short time later. It takes time for the plows to get back to the street they just plowed.

Our snow angels need more volunteers. If you would like to volunteer e mail greenburghsnowangels@gmail.com.

If there are any power outages we will set up warming stations and emergency shelters. Our CERT team of volunteers does a fantastic job.
