Do you believe that Bertha McCray is 100? Last night the Town Board honored one of Greenburgh's most exceptional young at heart ladies who was born on June 23rd, 1919. She's very involved at Calvary Baptist Church and is one of the town's best cooks. Her annual fish fry in October of each October was a highlight for congregants and others. The Town Board honored Bertha for her contributions and for being a part of our town. We wish her many more years of health and happiness. The Greenburgh Town Board also honored the Ardsley HS Girls Varsity Softball team for winning the state championships. We're so proud of the champs. Gerry Byrne, Commissioner of Parks MC'd the award ceremony. He was unbiased about the team even though his sister, Noreen Degnan is the head coach of the team. And, one of the champions, Rory McNerney is the daughter of our police chief. Some of the mom's of the girls honored were also Ardsley HS softball team champs during their years at Ardsley HS. Being a softball champ might be hereditary for some... Link to the ceremonies
