JOSEPHINE MOFFETT RETIRING AS CENTRAL 7 SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT
Release Date: February 14, 2007

The retirement of Josephine Moffett as Superintendent of Schools for Central 7 motivated NYS Regent Harry Phillips (Hartsdale resident) and Vic Leviatin, a retired educator and founder of the nationally recognized WISE program, to form a new citizens committee for education.
We held our first meeting on Tuesday evening at Greenburgh Town Hall. I left the meeting with a great deal of enthusiasm and optimism about the future of the school district. Many ideas were exchanged at the meeting. The Central 7 school district could become a national role model. Vic Leviatin has a number of out of the box, creative ideas for the school district that are very exciting.
The meeting was attended by parents, community leaders and members of the School Board. Those interested in being notified of future meetings should e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.
