Earlier today I spent some time chatting with merchants and residents of E Hartsdale Ave. The avenue needs to be rehabilitated. Mike Nestler of our parks dept submitted the following plan –which I think should be reviewed. I feel the avenue needs a new , fresh look.

the entire  E Hartsdale Ave business district should be rehabilitated. A master plan should be developed by an experienced outside firm. Once developed a budget and time table for the work to be done should be set. Keep in mind that a project of this nature will take a few years to complete and there will be many obstacles which will arise.

The scope of the work should include but not limited to the following;

1)       new sidewalks

2)       new lighting

3)       underground utilities

4)       street plantings

The plan should address the sidewalk area which is across from 80 East Hartsdale Ave to the Fenimore Rd overpass.

There are many towns and villages that have done similar work during recent years.
