No need to cut cyberbookmobile
Release Date: December 27, 2007

I am out of town till Saturday night. I just learned that the library board has decided to cut the cyber-bookmobile service and sunday hours. The library is sort of independent from the twn bd. We approve the budget and appoint libary bd members for fixed terms. However, the library board has the power under state law to shift funds in their budget without consulting or obtaining approval from the Town Board. The elimination of the cyber bookmobile and sunday hours is totally unnecessary. The library should defer some new purchases and spending until after the library is complete. We have been advised that the new library won't open till at least october- possibly later. I am requesting the opportunty to meet with the library board to help them identify ways to keep the cyberbookmobile open and to live within their approved budget. Paul Feiner
