The 43rd production by the local group since its founding in 1970, the show is directed and choreographed by Rose Cremonese-Norton. Friday and Saturday night performances are at 8 pm. Tickets, priced at $20 adults and $15 seniors/students through high school, can be ordered on-line at www.mpctshows.com. All seats are reserved.

The two leading roles in the 40-plus member cast, which includes several Greenburgh residents, will be played by Tom Ammirato of Mt. Kisco as Tevye the Dairyman and Chris Jamison of Yorktown Heights as his wife Golde.

Tom’s numerous MPCT roles include Lt. Frank Cioffi in Curtains, Julian Marsh in 42nd Street, Abner in Li’l Abner and Jesus in Godspell. At the Westchester Broadway Theater, he played Charlie Cowle in Music Man and Pap in Big River. Off the stage, Tom is an arborist for the New York City Department of Parks in Manhattan. He is thrilled to be performing with many talented cast members, including his girlfriend Victoria Lauzun in the role of Tzeitel, Tevye’s daughter.

Chris is an original founding member of MPCT, and also was a professional actress/singer/dancer for more than 30 years. Broadway credits include The Star To Be in the original production of Annie, and the female swing in the 25th Anniversary production of Fiddler On The Roof, where she had the great fortune of working with Jerome Robbins. Westchester audiences have seen Chris as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl and Widow Douglas in Big River at WBT, Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone with PMT/Armonk Players, and more than 30 roles with MPCT, her favorite being The Duchess in Me and My Girl. Off the stage, Chris is an executive assistant at GE Capital Treasury in Stamford, CT.

Fiddler on the Roof, a musical based on the Sholom Aleichem stories by Joseph Stein with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock, tells about the ups and downs of a Jewish family living in Russia during the turn of the 20th century.

About Mount Pleasant Community Theater

The Mount Pleasant Community Theater, originally called Mount Pleasant Summer Stock, was founded in the summer of 1970 for ages 15-25 by Rose Cremonese Norton, owner of Rose’s School of Dance; a group of football players -- Tom Darby, Steve Desidore, Owen Cottle and Pete Mastropietro, who wanted to continue performing after high school; along with Laura DeSanto, Chris Jamison and her mother Justine Mueller and Cindy Piebes Flynn. After early shows proved successful, support was provided by the community, including the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department, the Thornwood/Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce, and the Luca Cappelli family. This year‘s production will be dedicated in memory of Luca Cappelli Jr., with deep gratitude for the family’s generosity throughout the years.
