iMatter PROGRAM (*NEW)
DATE: Session 2: March 2nd – April 6th or March 4th – April 8th
Session 3: April 20th – May 25th or April 22nd – May 22th
DAY/TIME: Thursdays 3:00 – 5:30pm or Saturdays 11:30am-2:00pm

iMatter is a personal and professional leadership development program where students will receive an introduction to the world of work as well as many personal topics. Topics will include: Healthy relationships, building good work and personal habits, understanding finances, and more. The program will offer a variety of guest speakers that will interact with the students through hands on activities as well as self-reflective methods. GIRLS DESTINED FOR GREATNESS
DATE: Session 2: March 29th – June 9th (*No class 4/14*)

Girls Destined For Greatness is a group to empower & encourage the young female of today. Empowerment is a process of facilitating, instilling, and providing the means for girls to overcome the obstacles they may face in today’s world. We teach the importance of encouragement; which is the action of giving someone support, confidence, inspiration, motivation and hope. We want our youth walking away from our program knowing they have a group of supporters and that they should strive to reach their full potential. Finally, our girls will understand the value of giving back to the community and always lending a helping hand when applicable
FIRST AND GOAL CLUB
DATE: Session 2: March 15th – May 3rd
DAY/TIME: Wednesdays- 6:00pm- 7:30pm
AGES/GRADE: 7 yrs and up / 3rd grade and up

CLASS SIZE: 20
1st and Goal Club is a youth development program where students will have the opportunity to build self-confidence, mature, and grow as a young adults. Here they will receive the tools needed to develop good healthy behaviors, improve work ethics, and overall acquire skill sets that will assist them in navigating through youth adulthood. Topics will include: proper hygiene, appropriate and respectful behaviors, organizational skills, goal setting, responsibility, and many more. The program will offer a variety of guest speakers that will engage students with hands on activities as well as trips.
SPOKEN INTERLUDES A CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP (*NEW)
DATE: Session 2: March 27th – June 5th (* No class 5/29*)
DAY/TIME: Mondays 5:30pm-6:30pm
AGES/GRADE: 11 yrs and up / 6th-8th grade
LOCATION: TDYCC Computer Lab

Spoken Interludes is a nine week writing program where youth work in small groups with professional writers to learn how to write their own short story. The program culminates in a graduation reading for the students that family, friends, and the public attend. The program is brought to you by Spoken Interludes, which is a critically acclaimed literary salon where award-winning, best-selling, and up-coming writers read their own work to audiences of 200 people and more.
