Storyline: Inspired by real life events, Love Sonia tells the heartfelt and brave story of a teen girl.

Storyline revolves around young girl's journey to rescue her sister from the dangerous world of international sex trafficking.

Apne Aap: Apne Aap is a registered 501(c)(3) charity in the United States.

Based in New York, Apne Aap’s international office fundraises to support its grassroots work in India which works to empower girls and women to resist and end sex trafficking.

Greenburgh Public Library has summer going on with a ton of library programming and activities! All year public libraries work hard in partnership with parents, caregivers and educational professionals to advance literacy skills and academic performance in youth. However, during the summer months, studies show that students who don’t regularly read over the break, experience a setback, or a slide, in reading skills. It is especially important to engage children and teens in reading and reading-related activities during those summer months.  Prevent the Summer Slide by joining in Summer Reading!

How to join the Summer Reading Challenge:

For students entering K-6

•         Come to the Library or go to our online Summer Reading page

•         Pick up or print out a bingo card with reading challenges

•         Log your books

•         Earn a star for every book read

•         For every Bingo card completed receive a prize!

Stop by every week and pick up an additional ticket for our out of this world drawing for a special prize.

For students entering grades 6-12

•         Sign up:  create your reading log on the Teen Summer Reading page

•         Read books: graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, school books, whatever you like! 

•         Write reviews: record and review the books you read in your online reading log

•         For every 3 books you record and review you earn a prize

•         For every book you record & review in your online reading record log you get a raffle ticket towards the GRAND PRIZES!

RE : Letter of Support -Town of Greenburg Odell House Restoration Project

Honorable Commissioner,

The Consulate  general  of  France  is pleased  to  support  the Town o1f Greenburgh's  submission  of an application for a Historic preservation grant in connection with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYSOPRHP) Environmental Protection Fund  (EPF)  Grants program for Parks, Preservation and Heritage,  to  obtain  funding  for  the  restoration  of  the  Odell  House.

The Odell House figured prominently in the shared history of the United States of America and France and in their longstanding friendship. From July 6 to August 19, 1791, the house served as the headquarters of General Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, comte de Rochambeau. At the Philipsburgh Encampment 6,000 soldiers of the French Expeditionary Force joined 4,000 soldiers of the Continental Army under command of General George Washington, who was headquartered nearby. At the camp, George Washington and Comte Rochambeau devised the plan that led to the decisive victory over the British forces at Yorktown, Virginia in October 1781, effectively ending the  war and insuring the American Independence.

For its significance to our shared history, the Odell House is recognized through local and New York State historic designations and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It lies on the federally-recognized Washington-Rochambeau Route. The restoration of this house to make it publically accessible will be an asset to the community as well as to the relationship between our two countries, providing for a powerful sign of our alliance and benefitting education and tourism. Its restoration will allow this landmark to be a centerpiece of the commemoration of the oldest alliance between the United States of America and France and the Consulate general of France is proud to support this endeavor.
